The Capitol aka Washington DC.

Hello Pals,

Washington is the Capital of the United States and is a territory surrounded by Maryland and Virginia. Yes, it’s a political city (looking for a man in finance®, 6’5, blue eyes) it’s also home to the Smithsonian, one of the largest collections holding 21 museums and the National Zoo which are FREE (not pay as you wish, not donations (although appreciated) they are free.

I’ve been to Washington DC twice, once in 2022 (just after Covid so masks may still be in photos) and again in 2024 when my cousin visited. It’s simply impossible to see everything so I recommend planning a basic itinerary from the museums, galleries and monuments below. I suggest looking here for a full list of everything.

Washington DC sits upon the unceded ancestral land of the Nacotchtank people. I honour the generations of displaced and enslaved people who built the country.

The Best Travel Apps.

Hi Pals,

Now there are so many websites on which travel application is going to make your trip better, faster, stronger… and the starting lyric of that should have been easier.  I have a 64GB iPhone 6s plus and as I’ve only had this phone for a year or so, I’m not being asked to delete things… yet.

Although I still love using pen & paper to write things down and plan – I also like having applications to book, save & share with others.

Five tips on travelling with glasses.

I’ve researched it, and the statistics are all in my favour. I think I’ll be A-Okay. I mean, if it turns out that I’ll be able to shoot lasers from my eyes how sick would that be, and just in time for the Incredibles 2!

But it got me thinking, I’ve been travelling since I was 18 with glasses and how have I managed? Well, poorly, to say the least.

So here are five tips on how you can travel with glasses when you’re a bit of a doughnut-like me.
