Key Dates

July 4: INDEPENDENCE DAY.

The tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. The 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence – from History.com

31 October – HALLOWEEN

“Halloween” comes from “All Hallows Eve,” or the day before All Saints Day, a traditional holy day for Christians. Halloween originated in Europe but during the 19th century, immigrants brought it to North America, where it spread in popularity and evolved in many ways. According to tradition, the spirits of the dead come back to life to harm people and crops in the physical world.  It’s a day to get dressed up and go to a party.

THANKSGIVING

Held on the 4th Thursday in November. The modern-day Thanksgiving Day is for Americans to give thanks as the Pilgrims did with their Native American neighbours after their first harvest in Plymouth (now in Massachusetts) in November 1621. On October 3, 1863, during the Civil War, Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26.

  • Sales Tax is not included in the price unless in Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon.
  • Alcohol and Tobacco is 21+
  • Museums and Parks can require reservations. Plan in advance.
  • Lemonade is like a Solo Punch, order Sprite if you want that.

Cultural

  • Don’t start controversial political or religious conversations unless in good nature.
  • People like their personal space, try not to stand too close to people.

You can find the Metro in New York (apple/google pay) Washington (Smart Card) Chicago, Boston, San Fran, New Jersey, Philadelphia, LA, Atlanta, Baltimore, Miami.
